Serpentshrine Cavern

Six bosses. Lady Vashj is a guild-defining test — the rest train tank coordination, dispel rotations, and add control.

Tempest Keep: The Eye

Four bosses. Kael'thas Sunstrider is a 5-phase, ~10-minute encounter and arguably the hardest fight in the tier.

  3. High Astromancer Solarian — wave dispels, void zones

Universal Raid Prep

Raid buffs & auras

World buffs (DM:N tributes, Songflower, Onyxia/Nef rallying cry, Spirit of Zandalar) are stripped on entry to TBC raids. Don't bother farming them.

Min-Max Consumables — Per Role

Flasks are progression-tier; doubling-up Battle + Guardian Elixirs out-stats most flasks once you have the gold. Below is the canonical TBC stack per role, sourced from Wowhead and Icy-Veins class guides.

Battle vs Guardian elixirs. TBC split elixirs into two stacking categories: you can run one Battle Elixir + one Guardian Elixir at the same time. A flask occupies BOTH slots — so once budget allows, stack Battle + Guardian for more total stats than any single flask.

Caster DPS

Roles: Glad, Meta, Gond, Mafe, Kandin, Moto (Shadow), Outis (Boomkin), Spoofy (Ele).

Drums of Battle rotation. Drums of Battle (+80 haste rating to party for 30s) are usable by anyone holding the LW-crafted item — you don't need to BE a leatherworker, just have the drum in your inventory. Drums of Restoration are the mana-equivalent for healer groups. Optimal raid uses a drummer per group rotating on a 2-minute cooldown. Coordinate so drum windows align with Bloodlust + cooldown burns.
Resistance gear — Hydross. Havitz needs 365+ Frost Resist, Gayboi needs 365+ Nature Resist, capped after raid totems/auras. The encounter is unbeatable without it. See Hydross page for the full gear/totem checklist.

Macros & Communication

Required addons (raid-side)

DBM (or BigWigs) with the latest TBC modules, OmniCC, Decursive (for healers + Mafe/Kandin/Outis/Littlemoon), and a threat meter (Threatmeter / Omen). Healers should run Grid + Clique or VuhDo.

Voice protocol

Tanks call swaps. Havitz (raid leader) calls phase transitions and kill order. Otherwise voice should stay clear — rely on DBM warnings and named callouts. If you take a Watery Grave or get an Inner Demon, announce in voice.
